Thermosets and thermoplastics are the two main groups of plastics. Thermoplastics cannot be melted down or reshaped without being destroyed. Thermoplastics cannot therefore be recycled. Thermoplastic, on the other hand, can be melted down and reshaped several times after manufacturing, which makes it recyclable.
